Comfort, Support and Hygiene – the Three Functions of Mattress Toppers 

Mattress toppers are designed to do three things: keep your mattress in superb, just-bought condition (ideal for retaining that wonderful feeling of luxury and support when you slip into your freshly made bed); to enhance the comfort of your bed; and to reduce dust mites and other particles. Because you launder your double mattress topper, it keeps the dust and mites away from the mattress itself: where they can become ingrained and cause problems with breathing.

Our mattress toppers are available in all standard sizes and with fillings suitable for every bed. For a king sized bed choose a king mattress topper and king size mattress protectors (mattress toppers and mattress protectors are not the same thing); for a queen sized bed make sure you are ordering queen sized toppers and protectors. If you are not sure what size bed you have, look on the mattress label – or measure your mattress and tell us the dimensions. We’ll be happy to point you in the direction of a Super king size mattress protector, king size mattress protector, queen, double or single mattress topper as appropriate. 

Waterproof mattress protectors are ideal for younger sleepers: and for protecting your mattress against stains or microbial growth. Waterproof mattress toppers are backed with an impermeable fabric, which ensures that any liquid stays away from the mattress itself.

Mattress toppers are not waterproof – they have comfort functions and are used for protective purposes. Use a luxurious goose down and feather king mattress topper for unrivalled softness, comfort and warmth – perfect for snuggling up during the winter months!

A memory foam mattress topper ensures that you still get the full value of your memory foam layer. Memory foam mattress toppers are designed to protect the mattress in the same way as standard king size mattress protectors – but without defusing the postural benefits you get from the memory foam mattress. Keep the foam free from moisture and particles – but keep your spine and head firmly supported at all times.

Waterproof mattress protectors are masterpieces of technology and design -  waterproof backs, but still fully breathable and comfortable. Most waterproof mattress protectors, king size mattress protectors and memory foam mattress toppers are fitted with an elasticated skirt to ensure good grip and a full coverage of the mattress in the relevant size.

To ensure that your bed gives you the long lasting comfort and luxury you deserve, you need to take care of your mattress as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure you turn and rotate a standard mattress (in any size) regularly, as well as fitting the right mattress toppers for its dimensions. Memory foam mattresses don’t need to be turned – so in this case as long as you have a king size memory foam mattress topper (or appropriately sized double mattress topper), you’ll be guaranteed years of wonderful sleep.
